NetLiNQ EMS

Every NetLiNQ guide, in one place.

Installing the platform, running it, and moving it to a new release — on your own servers or in your AWS account. Start with the deployment model you are using.

On-premise AWS Lifecycle Monitoring Upgrades

Install

Installing NetLiNQ

The same NetLiNQ platform runs in both places. What differs is where the servers come from and what builds them — so the install guide you want is the one that matches your infrastructure.

Your own servers

Install on your own hardware

The installer builds the Kubernetes cluster on servers you provide, in your own data centre. Covers sizing, the vars file with a form that writes it for you, secrets, the installer run and what to check afterwards.

AWS

Install on AWS

Terraform and Terragrunt build the VPC, the EKS cluster, MongoDB Atlas and RDS in your own AWS account, then deploy the same platform on top. Covers secrets, inputs.hcl, the applies, private deployments and teardown.

Both start the same way: BLiNQ support sends you the package for your release. Nothing here is pulled from a public source. Once installed, the platform behaves identically — the operations guides below apply whichever way you deployed.

Operate

Running it day to day

Power events

Lifecycle Service

Controlled shutdown and post-boot restore. How to arm the two systemd units, what happens at shutdown and at boot, the replicas.json order, and how to scale the platform down by hand.

Observability

Monitoring Guide

What the platform exposes and where to look when something is wrong — dashboards, logs and the health signals worth alerting on.

Moving to a new release

Upgrades are run against the infrastructure underneath NetLiNQ, so each deployment target has its own operator guide. They are not interchangeable.

Operator guide · on-premise

Upgrade on your own servers

Back up the running system, restore it into a staging cluster, promote staging to live. Includes the command reference, rollback and validation steps.

Upgrade on AWS

A second environment is built beside the running one and traffic moves across by DNS. Being written — the page sets out what it will cover and how to plan an upgrade with BLiNQ support in the meantime.

Anything not covered by these guides — a custom network layout, a migration, an unfamiliar failure — goes to the BLiNQ support team rather than being improvised against a running deployment.

Reference

Which guide answers what

How big should the servers be?
Install on your own hardware — sizing per setup type.
What goes in the vars file?
Install on your own hardware — every field, with a form that writes the file for you.
Which AWS secrets do I fill in?
Install on AWS — the Secrets Manager entries, their keys and the rules for the values.
How do I reuse an existing VPC?
Install on AWS — the existing-VPC variant.
How do I power the cluster down safely?
Lifecycle Service — the shutdown and startup units, and the manual fallback.
How do I change a password after install?
Install on your own hardware — the secretsctl reference.
How do I brand the platform?
Install on your own hardware — branding, under Customize.
How do I move to a new release?
Upgrade on your own servers, for the on-premise blue/green flow. Upgrade on AWS is still being written — plan that one with BLiNQ support.
How do I remove NetLiNQ?
Install on your own hardware for the uninstall script; Install on AWS for the Terragrunt teardown.
